LOUISIANA REAL ESTATE APPRAISERS BOARD
 

Subsection 3399 of the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Law requires the following qualifying educational requirements for applicants seeking a license as an Appraiser Trainee or a  Residential or General Certified Appraiser.  Course work must be completed prior to applying for certification.

APPRAISER TRAINEE -  Seventy-Five (75) hours of academic instruction, which includes 30 hours in Appraisal Principles, 30 hours in Appraisal Practice and 15 hours of instruction on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).  

RESIDENTIAL CERTIFICATION – One hundred twenty (120) hours of academic instruction in courses approved by the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board. Course work must include the 15-Hour National USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) course.
 

GENERAL CERTIFICATION – One hundred eighty (180) hours of academic instruction in courses approved by the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board. Course work must include the 15-Hour National USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) course.

Courses completed through institutions or providers not included herein may be considered for continuing education approval on an individual basis; however, such course work must be submitted to the Appraisers Board for a determination prior to submission of the applicant’s certification application.
